Dell hat ein schnelles Notebook auf Basis eines Intel Core Duo vorgestellt. Das XPS M1710 bietet einen 17-Zoll-Bildschirm mit WUXGA-Auflösung von 1920 x 1200 Pixeln und ist mit 1024 MByte Arbeitsspeicher ausgestattet. Er lässt sich bis zu 4 GByte DDR2-Arbeitsspeicher mit 667 MHz aufgerüstet werden. Die Taktrate des Core-Duo-Prozessors liegt bei 2,16 GHz. Das Gerät bringt knapp 4 Kilogramm auf die Waage.
